Kip Graham, 21 of Richland, Washington, died January 8, 2010 as a result of injuries sustained from a tragic accident. He was born July 15, 1988 in Richland, the only son of Shawna Weige Graham and Roy (Pete) Graham. He attended Richland schools and graduated from the United States Department of Energy Core Radiological Training as a certified Radiation Control Technician (RCT) in 2008.
Kip was employed by CH2M Hill Plateau Remediation Company at Hanford as a junior RCT. He was serious about his job and enjoyed that he could be outside while working. Kip also liked the new friendships he received from the Hanford community. He was a member of the Connell Shooting Club and went skeet shooting with his dad whenever possible. He achieved high rankings within the gun club and was honored with the Burt Kneeder Scholarship, the first scholarship to be awarded by the Connell Shooting Club. Kip was a very proud and gentle person; he had a way of always watching and you knew he was taking it all in. He liked to play poker tournaments and was a movie buff with a movie collection of over 400. Kip liked hanging out with friends but spending time with his family was his first choice. Kip was exceptionally close to his older sister Kasey; they were only 15 months apart and never have any siblings watched out for each other like they did.
Kip's family is devastated by the tragic accident that took Kip from them too soon, but they take comfort in knowing he is in Heaven with both of his grandfathers, Les (Pa) Weige and Jack Graham.
Kip is survived by his parents, Shawna Weige Graham and Roy (Pete) Graham, his sister and best friend Kasey Brady and her husband Bill Brady of Richland. He also leaves his maternal grandmother Bernice (Gami) Weige and paternal grandmother Jerry Graham of Pasco. He is also survived by aunts and uncles Callie & Tom Gies of Pasco, Juli & Bruce Yamauchi of Richland, Mark Graham of Pasco, Les & Cathy Weige of Issaquah, and cousins Austin, Nash, Anna, Levi and Nick, and others who loved Kip and will miss him.
Viewing will be Wednesday, January 13th, 5:00pm to 8:00pm, and Thursday, January 14th, 9:00am to 1:00pm at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick. Funeral services will begin at 1:00pm, Thursday at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home with interment to follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. A luncheon will follow at Chapel of the Falls, 314 W. 1st Avenue, Kennewick.
