Daniel John Gayda passed away Monday, July 26, 2010 surrounded by family, friends, and his dog, Max.

Dan worked for the Franklin County Sheriff's Department for 27 ½ years. During his career he worked as a K-9 handler, was on the metro drug-task force, and had many other assignments. Dan was involved with many community service groups, including the Benton/Franklin County Sheriff's Posse for 20 years, Burbank volunteer Fire Department for ten years, the Blue Knights motorcycle club, and was on the Horse Heaven Roundup Rodeo Committee.
He enjoyed doing things with his family and many outdoor activities. He loved his horses, motorcycle, SCUBA diving, and other adventures. He was the best at helping and following his wife as she found new adventures for them to have.
He was an active member of the Burbank LDS Ward where he was currently serving as the Elder's Quorum President.

Dan is survived by his wife, Sheryl "Sam"; sons, Kris and Jacob; parents, John and Polly; brother, Keith; many in-laws; and his dog, Max.

Viewing will be held on Friday, July 30, 2010 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home, 1608 W. Court St. in Pasco and on Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 10:00-10:45am at the Burbank LDS Chapel on Lake Road with Services to begin at 11:00am.
